

Bette Anne Leadingham, 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025. She was born in Roswell, NM on January 18, 1943 to Owen and Bonnie Phillips. She retired from Southwestern Public Service Company as a Draftsman in Roswell, NM. She was married to the love her life for 27 years, Optometrist, Dr. Ed Leadingham who proceeded her in death in 2020.
Bette is survived by her daughter, Anne Shoffstall and her husband Tony, who reside in Grand Junction, Colorado and a son John Wood, and his wife Joan, of Denver, Colorado. She had 3 siblings, Rita McClallen who preceded her in death, Bob Phillips and his wife Nancy, Frank Phillips and his wife Kathy, as well as many Phillips and Leadingham family members, and countless friends.
She was an incredible artist, who loved to golf with friends and family, travel and laugh. She brought light, love, and generosity to all. They broke the mold when they made Bette and she never met a stranger! Her children adored her, and she wasn’t just their mom, she was also their best friend.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Callahan-Edfast Mortuary & Crematory in Grand Junction, Colorado. The graveside service will be held in Roswell, NM at South Park Cemetery on June 7th , 2025 at 10:30AM.
There will also be a Celebration of Life on May 9th at 10:30AM, 378 30 Rd., Grand Junction, Colorado. This event will be held on the lake that she loved.
How lucky are we to have had someone that makes saying good-bye so hard.
