My grandmother was the best momo in the world. It was so hard to watch her struggle. I know she is happy and healthy up there with the Lord. That is what I am thankful for and it helps keep me going. I will miss her tremendously. When she was around it was like having two moms. That's how she got the name momo (mom...ohhhh). Pretty sure when I was a little girl I called her mom a few times and then realized oh... not my mom. It just stuck from there. I couldn't ask for a better grandmother. The last thing I told her besides I love you was I promise I will take care of grandad for you.

I met Betty when she was 3 years old and I was 13. I had 3 brothers and no sisters so she became  my "little sister".  Six years later she became my  Sister in law. But she has always been  my little sister and she always will be..

Paul, Laura, and Family,
Dear friends, our prayers and sympathy are with you as you grieve your loss of wife, mother, grandmother, aunt.  We came to know and love your family while attending Orchard Avenue Baptist Church.  As AWANA leaders, Betty and Paul, you were instrumental in our children coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Whether in church, in your home, or in the many hours of phone conversations in these past 40 years, Betty exemplified the “Titus woman” who trained us younger women to love our husbands and our children, to live wisely and be pure, to care for our homes, to do good, and to be submissive to our husbands.  What a blessing and guide she has been, and we miss her, too.  And yet, we rejoice in knowing that though she is absent from her physical body, she is present with the Lord. 


Sending my love!!  She was the sweetest person I have ever known, I love her very much and will miss her and her words of wisdom!  She was my second mom and I will always be grateful for her love and support!❤️❤️❤️

Betty Dowdell was by far the most beautiful person I know.  She had a heart of gold, full of love and grace.  She was brilliant, talented artist, hard working, and always had time for those who needed her.  Paul and Betty accepted me into their family back in 1983 and I learned so much from them about life, moral values, and hard work.  Betty knew how much I loved and respected her and  how much she meant to me.  She and Paul are an inspiration that I didn’t have in my life before I met them.  I am eternally grateful and thankful for all the time we shared and the advice that haloed make me the husband, father, and grandfather I am today!  I love you Betty and know you’re in Heaven.  Save me a seat girl until we meet again one day and share a pice of Chocolate Cream Pie!!!
