Bonnie Newton, was born in Peru , Indiana to Clyde and Mary Alice (Emery) Petty on February
16,1928. She spent her childhood in Macy, Indiana, where she also attended school.
She married (Newt) Forest Newton on January 4,1944 in Peru, Indiana. She always said he was
her hero, and together they had three children; Cindra Langdon , Shauna Copley and Mathew
Scott Newton. Forrest passed in 2000.
Forrest and Bonnie moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1972 and became active members
at CCC in 1976.
Bonnie worked as an instructional aide at Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary for many years
and retired in 1998. Bonnie had a love for helping others and spent her time volunteering within
the church, making cards for those without immediate family , and much more. Helping others
was always a passion for Bonnie, regardless of if they were family or not.
She was known for her cooking skills, love for gardening and writing poetry. People were her
passion and visiting or praying over others made her day.
Bonnie is survived by children Cindra ( Gordon ) Langdon of Pueblo, Colorado; Shauna (Larry)
Copley of Grand Junction, Colorado; Matthew (Jody) Newton of Grand Junction, Colorado.
She had 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Clifton Christian Church on January 29, 2021 at 11:00 am .
