Carl David Montoya

December 17, 1936 to December 2, 2013

Carl Montoya of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away on December 2, 2013 at the age of 76.

He is survived by his son; Carl Jr. (Kim) Montoya, Gina (Ralph) Martinez and Angela Montoya. Five Grand Children: Cassandra, Jeremy, Jesse Montoya and Matt & Shawn Martinez. One Great Grandchild Jazlyn Martinez. Two Brothers; Rudy & Mike Montoya and one sister; Helen Mattson and many nieces & nephews.

Carl served in both the Navy and Army. He married Sandra Silva later divorced, she is deceased.

He attended School at Mesa College and Adams State where he got a degree in Education. He was a Teacher and then a Principle. He also accomplished many jobs, working with the Migrant Services.

He loved to watch the Denver Broncos, going fishing, camping, playing bingo, the slot machines and playing pool. Carl will be remembered by his love of playing the saxophone.

A Graveside Service will be held on December 10th at 1:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2830 D Road, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81501. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hope West Hospice, 3090 North 12th Street, Suite B, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81506, in memory of Carl.
