Carol Lee Brown

Carol was born on November 19, 1942, to Leslie Homer and Betty Jo Fales (Weber), in Grand Junction. Carol lived most of her life in the Grand Valley, having spent some of her early years in Florence and Montrose, Colorado, as well as a short time in Tyler, Texas.

Carol attended beauty college in Grand Junction and worked for many years as a beautician with her mother at Betty Jo’s Beauty Salon in Palisade, Colorado. Later she became a school bus driver for R.W. Harmon & Son’s, where she worked for over 30 years. She truly loved driving her bus and enjoyed the students she took to and from school. She spent numerous summers transporting firefighters, some to the South Canyon fire in 1994.

Carol was an avid bowler in the 70’s and 80’s. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and the outdoors. Carol was a faithful Bronco fan and was known for becoming quite boisterous during the games. She was looking forward to this season for sure.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a stranger to no one, and will always be remembered as a kind hearted, caring person who would open up her home to family and friends. Carol had a special way of connecting with people and making them a part of her life.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, John R. Brown. She is survived by her boys, Eric (Denise) Brown, and Jason (Amy) Brown; grandchildren, Ethan, Dakotah, and Justin Brown; and great-granddaughter, Isla Brown.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Martin Mortuary, with a reception to follow. Private interment will take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado at a later time.
