Marilyn was born May 30, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Delbert Bidleman and Mildred Watkins. She spent her childhood in Gibraltar, near Detroit. As a young girl she developed polio and lived in an iron lung until her health was restored at the University of Michigan with funds from the Franklin Roosevelt Polio Foundation. She moved to Denver, Colorado, and met Martin Wenger at the State Capitol where they both worked. They were married on September 29, 1951.
The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where her husband became the librarian at the Gilcrease Museum. They later moved to Norman, Oklahoma. In1968, they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where Martin grew up. He served as the Director of the Mesa College Library. Marilyn's interests were animals, computers, and art. She was an officer of the Macintosh User's Group and a member of the Weavers Guild. Her wall hangings were displayed at the Art Center and her watercolors won prizes at local arts and crafts fairs.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Martin; daughter, Stephanie; son, Larry (Gayle); brother, Allen Bidleman, and sister, Gayle Cook.
