Carol Wilson (Meme) passed away at the age of 70 on August 12, 2018 due to complications from surgery. She was surrounded by her friends and family at the time of her death. Carol was born on January 6, 1948, in Hoxie, KS, to Fred and Helen Conard.
After graduating from Mesa State College, Carol and her husband, Evan, moved to Belleville, IL, where they lived for 30 years. Carol retired as the Dean of Admissions at Governor French Academy where she was loving referred to as “the Mother of the School.”
In July of 2017, Carol and Evan returned home to Grand Junction, CO, where Carol loved to entertain friends, work in her garden, hike on the Grand Mesa and the Monument, and play pickleball.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Evan; one son, Todd Farber of Ft. Collins, CO; one daughter, Kim Larson and her husband, Bruce, of Denver, CO; one granddaughter, Kylie Farber of Ft. Collins; one sister, Shirley Samples and her husband, Bob, of O’Fallon, IL; and one brother, Ed Conard and his wife, Pat, of Hoxie, KS.
Rest in peace, Meme. You loved and were loved by many. A celebration of Carol’s life will take place on September 29, 2018, in Grand Junction, CO.
