

Carroll Dean Owen was born on December 17, 1935 in Meade Kansas to Charles Orville Owen and Vera Lucille Neville Owen. Carroll had 5 siblings: Keith, Marvin, Dorothy, Lorraine and Shirley. He was raised by his mother in Towner CO. At 17 he moved to Denver CO and worked for Mountain Bell/US WEST. Carroll was transferred to Glenwood Springs and then to Grand Junction where he lived for 34 years. He retired after 33 years of service. Carroll served 8 years in the Air National Guard. He married Patricia Jean Fenton on July 13, 1958. Carroll’s family always came 1st and was always his highest priority. He was involved with coaching baseball, was a Scout leader and sponsored church youth groups. Carroll was loyal and loved to spend time with his friends. Carroll had a quick wit and great sense of humor. He loved to laugh! He was extremely competitive and loved to play just about any game. He enjoyed world travel, camping, woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing (A highlight was halibut fishing in Alaska), Singing Barbershop - especially with a quartet. He was a devout Broncos and Rockies fan. It did not matter what you put in front of him, Carroll could fix anything. He is survived by his wife, Patricia. Children: Kenneth (Vickie), David (Leanne), Jeffrey and Kathleen (Donald). Grandchildren: Ryan, Andrew, Hannah, Jessica, Jonathan, Shane, Madeline, Lillian and great grandchild Ashten. Carroll passed on December 23, 2017.
A Celebration of life will take place at Callahan Edfast Mortuary Grand Junction CO on April 7 2018 at 10:00 AM.
