Cathaline was born on August 14, 1945, to Vicente and Genevieve Gonzales. On March 17, 1968, she married Terry Leeman Lind in Grand Junction, Colorado. Together they had five children before later divorcing. Later in life, Cathaline found the love of her life, Clyde R. Ruble. Cathaline and Clyde shared more than 20 years together before his passing.
Above everything else in Cathaline's life was family. Her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren meant the world to her. She was an incredible source of love and support for her family and was always there when someone needed her. She had a special way of stopping by her children's and grandchildren's homes with goodies in hand, simply because she was thinking about them. Those little visits and gestures of love became treasured memories that her family will carry with them forever.
Cathaline spent much of her working life caring for others. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Family Health West and at Grand Villa, where she also served as an Activities Director. She later provided in-home health care, forming speciat relationships with those she cared for and loving her clients as though they were members of her own family.
Cathaline also had an entrepreneurial and adventurous spirit. She loved sales and enjoyed selling Avon, Amway, and Mary Kay products. She especially loved traveling to flea markets throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and surrounding states, where she sold turquoise jewelry and Australian crystal. She enjoyed meeting people along the way and made those travels an important and joyful part of her life.
Her Catholic faith was also very important to her. Cathatine served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church and gave generously of her time to help others. She participated in food donations within her community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Her kind and giving heart touched countless lives.
When she wasn't caring for others or spending time with family, Cathaline enjoyed traveling, crocheting, word-search puzzles, putting together puzzles featuring beautiful artwork, and planting flowers in her yard. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially when she could share them with the people she loved.
Cathaline is survived by her children, Serina K. Lind; Lorraine M. Lind; Consuelo (Connie) Atencio and her husband, Abie Leo Atencio; and Terry L. Lind Jr. and his wife, Breanna.
She is also survived by her sisters, Genevieve Cortez of Midland, Texas, and Ruby Rivera of Manassa, Colorado.
Cathaline leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Vicente Lind; Aric Manzanares; Rey
Manzanares; Onieka Atencio; Antonio Lind; Elizabeth Lind; Theresa Gifford; Angela Lind; Brooke Lind; Terry Lind Jr.; Leela Lind; Lakin Lind; and Brantley Tausch, as well as many cherished great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Cathaline was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clyde R. Ruble; her daughter, Anita J. Paxton; her stepson, Leslie L. Lind; her grandson, Abie J. Atencio; her granddaughter, Samantha Lind; her parents, Vicente and Genevieve Gonzales; her brothers, Jerry Gonzales and Vince Gonzales; her sister, Betty McFarland; and her brothers-in-law, John McFarland and Tony Rivera.
Cathaline will be remembered for her tremendous heart, her generosity, her faith, and, above all, the unconditional love she gave her family. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, companion, caregiver, friend, and source of strength to so many.
The love she poured into her family will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
