Born in Philadelphia, MO to Irvin and Audra Coleman, Chuck was the youngest of five children. He spent his childhood years and attended school in Grand Junction. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy and spent the duration of WWII in the Philippine Islands as part of the Sea Bees.
He returned to Grand Junction after the war and married the love of his life, Margaret ""Jimmi"" Coleman. They wed at the First Babtist Church in Grand Junction on October 19, 1947. Together they purchased land in Grand Junction and built their home from the ground up, where they lived happily together for 60 years.
Dad enjoyed fishing, wood working and fixing things around his home and for his family. Chuck worked for Mountain Bell Phone Company for 32 years as an assignment processer before retiring in 1985.
He was a loving and caring husband and father whom we will greatly miss.
He is survived by his son, Louis and daughter, Connie both of Grand Junction. He was the loving grandfather of Isaac (Erin) of Denver, CO; Tyrone of Grand Junction, and Kyler of Overland Park, KS, and three great-grandchildren, Violet, Thayer, and Orrin of Grand Junction.
Graveside services will be held at Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, where friends and family are invited to celebrate his life.
