Charles (Chuck) William Perez, 91, Grand Junction, passed away Nov. 30, 2015 at home.
Chuck was born on October 11, 1924 to Andy and Ruby Perez in Hotchkiss, CO and was raised in Whitewater, CO. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1945 and reenlisted in Germany until 1947. He served in WW II with the 82nd Airborne Infantry and was in the Battle of the Bulge. Chuck was called back to active duty for the Korean War Conflict where he was an instructor in Mine and Warfare at Fort Leonard Wood, MI. He was honorably discharged in 1951 as a Staff Seargant. He received a 3 Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal, the European Campaign Medal, and a Purple Heart.
After serving the country, Chuck became owner and operator of Chuck's Sprinkler Service in 1962. His business legacy continues. Chuck was an avid bowler and known to his friends as "Boom Boom." He loved to work in his yard and in his garden and spend quality time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, JoVeta Perez, his son David Perez (Blanca), his daughter Cinda Valdez (Sam), and daughter Patty Fabrizio (Steve). He leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetary of Western Colorado on December 8, 2015 at 1:00.
