As an LHS alumnus (class of '05) and Lakewood resident, I'm so sorry for your loss. I was trying to find the history of Philnor Pharmacy and was brought here. What lovely things so many people have to say about Daniel! I wish I'd known him, and hope that he is in a better place now.

So sorry for your family's loss. Just finding out about this and I am very heartbroken 💔! Danny ( Mulch), and I were going to spend  many days and nights watching Baseball together in Grand Junction! Sam and I moved to up here yesterday, and I was wandering why his phone went to the operator every time I tried to call and let him know, we are on Our way up to GJ to live out our lives. 
You was a Great Friend. A gentle Giant with the kindest heart! Our memories and conversations over the phone when I worked graveyards, will never be forgotten! Love you Brother, and WE WILL watch some ball when I meet you In Heaven 🙏🏽♥️👍🏽‼️

I wish I could put into words how I feel about Dan, but I really can’t. He was one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. He was the epitome of love. 
I always thought that I would see him again and the reality that I won’t is hard to take. 
Dan, I know how much you missed your mom and dad and now you get to be with them in heaven. 
I will always miss you, & will never forget you.

Danny and I met in first grade on the playground playing football before school started. We got in a tussle and he cold - cocked me in the chops with one blow!  We became good friends the next day and grew up in Lakewood all the way through high school. Always the leader bringing his teammates together with his gregarious “shenanigans”. Smiling and laughing all the time. Thanks for your friendship and wonderful childhood memories!  Rest well but always swing hard whether it be a bat or maybe even a fist.

Dan was a friend for many decades.  His spirit, compassion for others, competitiveness, and unwavering friendship is Daniel Mulcahy.   He loved his family very much.  He had the twinkle in his eyes like that of his father Tom.  The heart in is soul as big as his mother Charlotte.   He spoke of sisters Patti and Cathy always and often with such pride and affection.   
Dan always brought a twist of laughter and positive thinking to the  ball field and personal life. 
God Bless Dan.  May you Rest In Peace.  

Dan was one of my most favorite people that I have ever worked with. He taught me a lot of what I know today from framing to dry wall repair. He was always a positive influence for me and everyone around him. He was a huge presence not only in stature but as well as personality. 
Not only was he one of the best people that I've ever known but will always  be my friend. He will be missed!!

These posts are such a good and a true reflection of Danny.  He was a wonderful athlete and just as wonderful a friend. Anyone who knew him, felt the love of his generous, kind heart. The bond he shared with Cathy & Patti and all of his family was really beautiful.  I'm thankful we reconnected these last few years & that he included me in his circle of friends. I’ll miss you, Dan. Rest easy now, friend. 💗

Cathy and Patty. Words cannot express the sorrow we felt/feel when learning of the death of our beloved Danny. Bob and I considered Danny one of our own children. Meeting Danny and watching him grow as an 8 year old lanky kid pitching for a Lakewood Little League Baseball Team coached by Bob and Warren; being a 3 Sport Letterman at LHS; pitching in the CO All-Star Baseball Game; playing at MESA College was a blessing and joy for us. Danny's Philnor Pharmacy Baseball Team not only had the most talented, athletic players in the State of Colorado, but were also  leaders in their schools and communities ; were intelligent, gifted. religious, etc. Playing in Regional Baseball Tournaments in , Sapulpa, OK and Dallas, Texas,  Danny was always a competitor and inspired his teammates to give 100% or more.  His winning smile will always remain in my heart. Rest in peace God's child. You brought a lot of joy and happiness to a lot of people.


My husband, Chris & Dan played baseball together at Garden City Community College in the early 80’s.  We all had many good times together & memories with “Mulch”, that we still refer to today, 40 + yrs later. Chris will miss the occasional phone convo’s they had thru the yrs. He will be missed by both of us. Peace & comfort to Danny’s family.

Danny was an original.  His devilish grin and twinkle let you know he was about to do something hilarious.  I was his partner in baseball as I had the privilege of being his catcher for 10 years.  He was the best I ever caught.  In 1970 I was standing with a group of eight year olds at Morse Park as the first group of a bunch that became “Philnor Pharmacy”. - gathered.  Nobody knew anybody.   Amongst the group was a cocky eight year old singing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog” (a recent 1970 hit)  this was Danny in his element.  That will always be Danny to me.  A funny competitive light who is gone too young.   Everybody has a Danny Mulcahy story.  That was Danny in his beauty.   
My heart goes out to his sisters who were his guardian.

I am so sorry for your loss, we all thought very highly of Danny. We will have you and your family in our prayers.
