Deanna Fay Siess

Born on February 12, 1954, in North Platte, Nebraska, Deanna was the only daughter of Melvin and Jane Miller. She grew up with a heart full of compassion and a witty sense of humor. After graduating High School, she went on to study and pursue her love of beauty at Joseph’s Beauty College in Lincoln, Nebraska. After attaining her Cosmetology license, Dee made the bold move to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she flourished as a Cosmetologist, before meeting the cowboy of her dreams who happened to be the love of her life, Tom. As children were born and Dee’s career grew, she and Tom made the decision to move their family to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1989, to pursue multiple business ventures within the beauty industry.

Deanna was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a fun spirited Nana. Her greatest joy was her family, whether that be her nucleus family, or the family she created within her career. Over the course of 50 years, Dee worked behind the chair at salons, promoted beauty products as an owner at State Beauty Supply, and taught her passion, talent and skills as a Cosmetology Instructor and Owner at MJM Institute of Cosmetology. She will be remembered for being a person who never gave up in life, and gave whatever it took to succeed, both professionally and as the Matriarch to her family.

She found happiness in the simple things: rocking in her porch chair listening to music and watching the hummingbirds, taking care of her garden, baking, and playing nonstop with her dogs and grandkids. She was most happy being outdoors and doing anything that enabled her to be surrounded by her family.

Deanna is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom Siess. Her daughters, Cori (Jason) Savageau, Lori (Ryan) Lee, and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Siess. Her 11 grandchildren, Hunter, Brooklyn, Bryson, Parker, Ashlyn, Ryker, Addisyn, Paxton, Jaxon, Kinzie and Zander----all of which were the light of her life. Her four brothers, LeRoy, Rick, Mike, and Steve, and Numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her fiercely. Dee was preceded in death by her parents and her only son, Dane Siess.

A Memorial for Deanna will be held on July 12, 2025, at 4pm at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with a Celebration of Life to follow at her residence, 2528 Jouflas Ct, Grand Junction, Colorado.

The family would like to thank Hopewest PACE and Hospice for providing support and care over the last few months of Deanna’s life.

Deanna’s Legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched, taught and inspired in the Cosmetology field, as well as the love she so freely gave.
