

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include two sons, Donald D. of Silt and Daniel D. of Pleasant Grove, Utah; two daughters, Delia Dalene Charly of Kayenta, Arizona, and DonaLynn Graves of Ogden, Utah; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Dewey R. Olmstead
January 7, 1934 - November 12, 2015
Dewey Ralph Olmstead was called home on November 12, 2015.
He was born January 7, 1934, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Charles Dewey Olmstead and Esther Elizabeth Waldorf Olmstead. He married Donna Sue Maffenbier on August 25, 1954, in Grand Junction, CO.
He attended Mesa Collage, and worked as a chemical lab technician. He, with his sweetheart, transferred to Arizona where he trained as an electrician and worked in the uranium mills and cooper mines. He and his family later moved to Basalt, CO where he worked as an electrician throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. He moved to Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands, where later his wife joined him. He worked as an electrician, estimator and inventory control agent for 17 years. When he retired they came back and made Grand Junction their home. He enjoyed serving in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was active in the local Ham Radio Group, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
His parents, his wife, his sister, Violet Ruth Natvig, his daughter, Deanna Rose Jones, and his grandson, Samone Robinson preceded him in death. Surviving members of his family are sons, Donald Dewey Olmstead (Colleen), Daniel Duane Olmstead (Elizabeth); daughters, Delia Dalene Charley, and DonaLynn Graves; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Grand Junction Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
In leu of flowers, contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice.
