Don Lancaster passed away September 2, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center, he was 77.
Don was born in January 25, 1935 in Ogden, UT to Perry C. and Agnes C. Lancaster. He spent his childhood in Ogden and later moved to Denver, CO in 1948.He graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Denver and attended Regis College.
He married Marie (Walsh) Mott and they later divorced. He met Nancy L. Lowe, who worked for Don’s brother Dave, and they married on July 20, 1974 in Denver, CO.
Don was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had previously lived in Parker CO. Don Owned and operated an Industrial Supply Company for 35 years. After retiring in 1995 the family moved to Palisade, CO. Don volunteered from 1997 to the present at the Catholic Outreach where he was an interviewer and maintenance engineer. He gave great comfort to many people, (sometimes playing jokes) and built strong memorable relationships.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and many outdoor activities. Because of his strong love of family his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy L. Lancaster of Palisade, seven sons; Mike (Kathy) Lancaster of Glenwood Springs, CO, Pat (Deb) Lancaster of Elizabeth, CO, Bill (Donna) Lancaster of Goldendale, WA, Tim (Ellen) Lancaster of Kiowa, CO, Jake (Sandy) Lancaster of Magna, UT, Chris (Cindy) Lancaster of Mountain Home, ID, Tony (Roxanne) Lancaster of Middleton, ID, a daughter; Annie (Rich) Belfiore of Roxborough Park, CO, a brother; Dave Lancaster of Grand Junction, CO, 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by a sister-in-law; Marilyn Lancaster and a niece; Paula Lancaster.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
