Mr. Nostrand founded Nostrand Trucking, Inc.

Survivors include wife Linda; sons Monty and Cody, both of Grand Junction; daughter Brenna Reynolds of Rock Springs, Wyoming; brother John of Jean, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

June 22, 1941 - December 30, 2014

Donald E. Nostrand, 73, of Grand Junction, CO passed away December 30, 2014 at Eagle Ridge of Grand Valley in Grand Junction after a brave battle with Parkinson's for the past 13 years.

Don was born to Cecil and Melissa (Walton) Nostrand, June 22, 1941 in Palisade, CO at their home. He graduated from Palisade High School, class of 1959.

Don married the love of his life, Linda Hart on September 9, 1972.

Don's life revolved around his love for the outdoors. For a number of years he worked at several jobs, ranging from installing the first Ute Waterline from Mesa to Grand Junction to working for Corn Construction paving roads and hauling freight. He began Nostrand Trucking in 1979, which to this day provides landscape materials to Western Colorado consumers.

Don's love for the outdoors and the western lifestyle shone through in his personal life as well. He enjoyed having livestock on the family acreage, hitting every auction around, hunting elk and deer or fishing on the weekends, and exploring new places by horse, jeep or ATV.

Don is survived by his wife, Linda of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Brenna (Rick) Reynolds, of Rock Springs, WY; sons , Monty (Trina) Nostrand and Cody (Heather) Nostrand, both of Grand Junction, CO; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother, John Nostrand of Jean, NV, brother-in-law, Ron Hart, of North Platte, NE, and sister-in-laws, Phyllis (John Snider) Hart of Ft. Morgan, CO, and Barb Hart, of Belle Fourche, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Melissa Nostrand and parents-in-law, Willard and Della Jean Hart.

Services are Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Grand Junction, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice at 3090B North 12th Street Grand Junction, CO 81506.
