Doretha "DeeDee" Dean

Her family was at her bedside as she passed peacefully at home.

Dee Dee was born on July 6, 1950 in Ironton, Ohio to Howard Carter and Esther (Brown) Carter. She has resided in Grand Junction, CO for the past 23 years after moving here from Cortez, CO.

Dee Dee was a client of MOSAIC in Western Colorado. She loved going to work every day to see her beloved staff and friends. Whether it was bowling, movies or helping at the SPCA, Dee Dee engaged with much enthusiasm! She competed in Special Olympics and brought home many medals.

Anyone who knew her, knew she idolized Elvis! And she would almost always have a stuffed animal stuffed in her pocket. Dee Dee never met a stranger! If she called you friend, you were a friend for life!

She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Bridgette (Sam) Mabry and Gloria (Chet) Thorpe, nephews, great nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. There will be no service. A private celebration of life will be held.
