Betty graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1941. She married Richard “Dick” Drake, and they had four children, Gary (Pat), Richalyn (Earl) Collins, Raymond (Shirley), and Terry. Both Dick and Gary preceded Betty in death.
Betty went to work at JC Pennys in 1961 and was there for 23 years. Dick and Betty spent their retirement years wintering in Lake Havasu, Arizona, and summers on Grand Mesa fishing and hiking. They were members of the Orchard Mesa Lyons Club. Betty was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by three children, Richalyn, Raymond, and Terry; nine grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank CJ, Karley, and Russell for all their help during this difficult time.
Services will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 1:00 pm, at the First United Methodist Church, 522 White Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
