

Dusty E. Holman, 84, passed away on January 5, 2024 in Grand Junction, Colorado due to complications from heart surgery. Dusty was born on September 16, 1939 in Oklahoma and was the only child of Joe and Mary Holman. He grew up and graduated high school in Texas City, Texas and went on to University of Houston and received a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. After graduating he went to work for Texaco/ Chevron in oil exploration and eventually into environmental engineering for 45 years. He traveled the world for business from the North Sea to south Indonesian countries.
Dusty was widowed a year ago when his beloved wife, Margie Holman, sadly passed away. They met in Houston through their work industry and were happily married for 30 years. Upon retirement by both of them, they chose to move to Palisade, Colorado to a beautiful home overlooking mountains and orchards where they continued to travel, mainly stateside, in their RV and enjoyed all that Colorado offered as far as music and entertainment. Dusty always loved to tinker with cars and considered himself the master handyman. No job was too difficult for him. He and Margie served their church community by handling the accounting duties for 10 years. They both had soft hearts for stray animals and took in multiple animals over their years together as well as supporting many animal rescue organizations.
Dusty is predeceased by his wife, Margie, as well as both parents. He is survived by his two children from a previous marriage. His daughter, Holly Schoettlin, and son-in-law, Coby and their 4 children, Shay, Shelby, Coby Jr. and Cami all from Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by his son Troy Holman and his wife, Elizabeth of Euless, Texas along with step daughter, Elaine Hight and stepson, Eric Hight. Dusty's and Margie's passing will be gravely felt by all who knew them.
