On the morning of May 30, 2020, Dwight Scott Walter of Grand Junction, CO passed away at the age of 72. Dwight was the fourth son of six born to Earnest and Imogene Walter in 1942. He worked many years as a master machinist for Continental and then Gates Rubber Co in Denver Colorado. February 24, 1968 he married Dolores Morgan and had four kids; Kathy, Rewa, Scott, and Dolores. They divorced January 31, 1977. Dwight then married Diana Sizer August 5, 1982. They have been married for the last thirty-eight years.
Dwight enjoyed many different passions / hobbies though out his life. He started painting and rebuilding cars as a teenager, then moved onto racing, motor cycle riding, building and racing competition show vans, photography, glass etching with sandblasting, gun enthusiast, an avid bicycle rider, wood working, scooter riding, and then his final hobby included finding the most tricked out personalized mobility scooters to make sure that he went out in style.
He is well known for his easy going, quick witted sense of humor. One of his many favorite quotes was “don’t take life too seriously, you’ll never get out of it alive anyway”.
Dwight is preceded in death by his father, Earnest, his mother, Imogene, his older brother Larry, and his older brother Paul. He is survived by: his older brother Gary and his wife Betty; younger brother Mike and his wife Gail; his younger brother James and his wife Bettieann; his wife Diana; daughter Kathy McKinney and husband Shawn; daughter Rewa Gaudern and husband Zeke; son Scott Walter and wife Jennifer; daughter Dolores Davis and her husband Michael. He was richly blessed with 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
