

Earl Monte McFry joined our Lord and Savior on February 19, 2018. Earl was born on November 11, 1932 at home in Fruitvale, Colorado to Leona (Wiess) and Monte McFry. He was born Monte Earl McFry but changed his name to Earl Monty at the age of eighteen. Earl rode to school on his horse Judy. As a child he wanted to grow up to be a cowboy.
Earl joined the army with his best friend Gene Sullivan at the age of seventeen before he was twenty he became a Sargent. He was stationed in Warkennheim, Germany where he met his first wife Anna Margot Wollner. They married in June of 1954 and later divorced in 1972. Together they have two daughters: Dianna Fox (Rocky) and Janet Gardner.
Earl received a four-year diploma in Electrical Natural Gas Production and Transmission Engineering, graduating in 1958. He worked and retired from Public Service, which later was bought out by Western Slope Gas company, for thirty-six years. He was always grateful to the company and for the company’s retirement plan.
He married the love of his life Doris Ruth Cass on January 30, 1982. Doris has a son Lynne Cass (Isabell). Together they loved camping, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. Earl and Doris enjoyed traveling our great country as well as going many cruises. Las Vegas was his favorite spot as he loved playing craps. Earl and Doris were members of the local Gem and Mineral Club, motor home club, and their breakfast club. Together Earl and Doris have five grandchildren: Ian and Ty Gardner; Adrienne Belandria, Ali Belandria, and Jasmine Cass.
He is preceded in death by both his parents as well as his sisters: Dorothy Spudick Haller and Mildred McFry Trujillo.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Martin Mortuary.
