Edward R. Marvin of Grand Junction passed away at Hope West at the age of 83. He was born in Highland Park, IL. In 1949 he moved to Irvington-on-Hudson NY, where he met his future wife, Isabel Brunette in high school. In 1950 he moved to Walla Walla, WA and attended Whitman College. He then moved to Spokane WA to join West Coast Airlines, thus began a 40 year career in aviation. Thirty-two of those were with the FAA.
Ed and Isabel were married in 1952. They moved several times living in Walla Walla, Seattle, Whitehall, MT; Cheyenne, WY; Akron, CO; Bozeman MT; and Dickinson, ND before moving to Grand Junction in 1975. Upon retirement, they spent time in Oklahoma City where Ed taught and wrote for the University of Oklahoma.
Ed loved camping, fishing, traveling, reading, music, and photography. A private pilot’s license was a proud possession of Ed’s.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Isabel, sons David, Edward (Cathy), and Tom, a son-in-law Michael Lloyd, several grand children and great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter Lois Marvin Lloyd.
