Elizabeth Marie Keil
June 22, 1920 - October 15, 2014
The family of Elizabeth Marie Keil mourn her passing on October 15, 2014, at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction, CO. We now celebrate her new life and resurrected body.
Elizabeth (known as Betty by many) was born in Buffalo, New York on June 22, 1920. She was a proud woman who was not afraid of hard work. She went to work at a very young age to help raise her ten brothers and sisters.
Elizabeth (our Nanie) was a beautiful woman, showing love and caring to all who were lucky enough to know her. She married her love and confidant, Nicholas ""Nick"", who was also born in Buffalo. They relocated the family to California where they were residents for many years, owning and operating two successful restaurants. Elizabeth also worked for Dennys Corporation for many years. She was a Fruita, CO resident for the last ten years.
Elizabeth loved sunbathing in beautiful San Diego and dining out with her husband. EWTN (The Catholic Channel) was her favorite television program, she waited patiently for Father Mark-he was special.
Elizabeth joins her daughter, Carol Ann Matthews and grandaughter, Cindy Marie Wooten who preceded her in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Nicholas and daughter, Joan Brennan, of Fruita; sister, Margaret (Dave) Chapin; brother, Paul Kielich of New York; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Shelley) Melendrez of Grand Junction; Caren (Dave) Leach, Christi (Jim) Barrera; Ralph Matthews and Raymond Melendrez all of California. She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
We commemorate her life, her contibutions and her accomplishments, but most of all her new place in Heaven. We celebrate her everlasting life-until we see her again.
A Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita, CO on January 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
