

Ellen was born on January 9, 1930, in Collbran, Colorado. She spent her childhood in Collbran and Grand Junction and graduated from Central High School in 1949. During her 94 years in the area, she also lived in Fruita and Whitewater before settling in Clifton.
Ellen was a homemaker and cherished spending time with her sisters and family. Her hobbies included collecting rocks, traveling, and attending the Saturday sale and other auctions. She loved reading, playing solitaire, tending the flowers in her yard, and always enjoyed a good cup of instant coffee.
Ellen is survived by her sons, William Ford of Grand Junction, and Neal Ford of Clifton; daughters, Virginia Brown of Grand Junction, Anita Werner of Grand Junction, Bernita Adams of Roswell, New Mexico, and Donna Hartmann of Grand Junction; sisters, Rosalee Hiner and Roberta Hatcher, both of Grand Junction, Diana Blair and Kathy Livingston, both of Whitewater; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Ford; parents, Clyde and Zorabel Pettigrew; son, John Ford; sisters, Pat Rush and Dortha Crain, and brother, David Pettigrew.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Martin Mortuary, with a graveside service to follow at Clover Cemetery in Collbran.
