Emilee Susanne Chick, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was born on December 30, 1982, to Samuel Lee Hernandez and Sharol Lynn Hernandez, who instilled in her the compassion, resilience, and warmth that became the foundation of her life.
Emilee faced a long and courageous battle with cancer, meeting every challenge with grace, determination, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Even as she endured tremendous hardship, she continued to care for her loved ones—managing the household, supporting her children, and handling the family’s finances—until the final months when her illness no longer allowed it. Her strength during this time was a testament to her character and the depth of her love.
A proud graduate of Mesa State College, Emilee earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Northeast Christian Church.
Among her greatest joys and achievements were the roles she cherished most: being a mother and an aunt. She created a home filled with music, laughter, and adventure. A lifelong Beatles fan, Emilee found joy in singing along to her favorite songs, traveling to new places, and sharing every moment with her children.
She is survived by her loving husband, Blane Chick, and their three children—Antonio Samuel Chick, Benjamin Jude Chick, and Mara Emilee Chick—who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her parents, Samuel and Sharol Hernandez; her siblings Rebecca Hernandez, Alison Row, and Stephen Rowe; her nieces and nephews Harlan and Nora; and her grandparents John and June Colosimo. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, humor, and fierce devotion to family.
Emilee’s presence was a gift—gentle, joyful, and steadfast. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her love will remain a guiding light in the lives she touched.
