Emma “Jeanne” Cox, age 73, of De Beque, Colorado passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. Jeanne was born July 29, 1949 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to parents Royce Franklin and Patricia Meyers. Jeanne was a resident of De Beque for the last six years but spent her life around Colorado in Clifton, Grand Junction, Debeque, Paonia, Hotchkiss, and Denver. She married her husband, Lewis Cox, on July 24, 1967 in Arvada, Colorado. She and Lewis raised four biological children alongside many other children that were not related by blood.
Jeanne was a wife, a homemaker, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, and a friend. She loved to cook big meals for everyone and there was never an empty plate at the table or empty stomach in the house. Jeanne enjoyed camping, sewing and crafting with family and friends. Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren. Most of all, Jeanne enjoyed all the adventures she and her husband Lewis shared over the years.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Lewis Cox, of De Beque, Colorado; sons Donald Cox and Brandon David Cox of De Beque, Colorado; daughters Patricia Snider (Mark) and Leah Leach (Mike), of Grand Junction, Colorado; her sister Judith Cox, of De Beque, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Jeanne had countless nieces and nephews and many other family members that weren’t blood related, but still family all the same.
Jeanne is preceded in death by parents Royce and Patricia, a brother and a sister, and great-grandchildren Titus, Connor, and Gannon.
A Celebration of life for Jeanne will take place the weekend of July 29, 2023 with a place to be determined.
