Eugene was born in Ellis, Kansas to Rudolph and Regina Waldschmidt.
He married the love of his life Patricia Anderson October 13,1956 in Las Vegas and they lived for many years in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Eugene spent his childhood on a farm in Ellis where he graduated from Ellis High School and immediately joined the Marines where he completed four years with them before being honorably discharged with the rank of SGT in 1961.
Eugene won many trophies playing golf. He loved gardening, baking, woodworking and most of all his family.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, son Alan Waldschmidt, five brothers and two sisters.
Eugene is survived by his sons Douglas (Monika) Waldschmidt, Charles (Shella) Waldschmidt, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A private Military Honors Service will take place at a later date.
