Finis Bessie May Barnes

Finis was the fourth of 11 children; her early childhood was spent in the Weiner, Arkansas, area before moving to Western Colorado in the early 1950’s and settling in Nucla, Colorado, with her family. Finis attended school there and graduated from Nucla High School in the class of 1963.

On June 28, 1963, Finis married Tom Barnes in Nucla and continued to call Nucla Home, where they raised their family. Finis enjoyed many activities from crafts, sewing, crocheting, and planting her flower beds. She especially enjoyed her grand kids.

She is survived by her children Devlin Barnes (Bar Nunn, Wyoming), Scott Barnes and Becky Coe (Nucla, Colorado), Brittany Hibbert (Nucla, Colorado); six grandchildren Baily Barnes, Hailey Hibbert, Kaybree Hibbert, Ruger Hibbert, Ashton Barnes and Avery Barnes; and siblings Maggie Lemons, Janet Wood, Bill Clark, Bob Clark, Bo Clark and Paul Clark.

Finis was proceeded in death by her husband of 52 years, Tom Barnes; her parents, Jewell and Minnie Clark; two brothers, Ernie Clark and Larry Clark; and two sisters, Ruby Joanne Davis and Tiny Burbridge.

Memorial Services for Finis Barnes will be held at a later date.
