

Geneva Grace Henderson Bosley, 95 years old passed away January 23, 2026, at her Clifton, Colorado home surrounded by her family. Service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, at Clifton Christian Church.
Geneva Grace Henderson Bosley was a wife, mother, teacher, and friend to all who met her. She was born April 14, 1930, at home in Willhoit, Missouri. Geneva was the second of three girls born to John William Henderson and Hester (McCool) Henderson. The family moved from Missouri to western Kansas, then to Edwards, Colorado in 1933. Later they moved to their dairy farm between Palisade and Clifton, Colorado in 1935.
During the war, Geneva, her two sisters and parents moved to Denver where her parents worked at Denver Ordinance Plant, Remington Arms. Hester, her mother, encouraged her to get an education.
She attended Clifton High School. Geneva had all her high school credits, so she spent her senior year going to Mesa Junior College. She took business classes and worked at the registrar office. She packed peaches in the summer to earn extra money.
Geneva met James L. Bosley through his sister, Doris Bosley, who picked up Geneva to go to church events. They were married on September 14, 1947, at the Clifton Christian Church in Clifton, Colorado where their families attended church. After their honeymoon to Delta, Grand Mesa, and Mesa Verde, they attended Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction, Colorado. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Gail Annette and James Bruce. After Graduation, they both attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. Geneva took classes and worked for the registrar office. After James received his teaching degree they moved to Basalt, Colorado.
When James became superintendent in Grover, Colorado, Geneva drove to Greeley, Colorado, 60 miles each way, each day, to earn her bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Colorado. At the age of 56, she earned her master’s degree in education from Western State College. She celebrated this event with family. In 1979, they moved from Sidney, Nebraska to the Bosley farm in Clifton, Colorado where she continued to teach first grade. She taught first grade for 30 years and was much respected in her teaching techniques. She encouraged her children, family members, and others to get a college education.
Geneva enjoyed, with her husband, James, spending time with family and friends on camping, fishing, and skiing trips. She was an excellent seamstress, helping her children reupholster old furniture to upscale it, making curtains and dresses for her daughter and daughter-in-law for special occasions.
She is survived by her daughter, son, their spouses, and grandchildren. Daughter, Gail Annette Bosley (Jim) Ellison of Gering, Nebraska, granddaughter, Charlyn Ellison (Scott) Morrison, and
Ethan, and Ellie Morrison from Erie, Colorado, grandson, Brenton James (Amy), and Julia, Wesley, Everett, and Henry Ellison of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Son, James Bruce Bosley (Linda), of White City, Oregon, granddaughter, Heather Bosley (Tim), Muhonen and Oliva, Aubrie, Rian Muhonen of Eagle Point, Oregon, grandson James Ryan (Denisse) Bosley of Gretna, Louisiana.
Brother-in-law Melvin Collins of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Nephews, Willian A. Erven (Cindi Range) of Clifton Colorado, and John C. (Leslie) Erven of Colorado Springs, Colorado, grand-niece, Jessica (Syd) Lloyd of Colorado Spring, Colorado, and nieces Linda (Cook) Cannel of Grand Junction, Colorado and Connie (Kauffman) Caridi of Lexington, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Bosley, of 51 years, her parents, John and Hester (McCool) Henderson of Clifton, Colorado, her husband’s parents, Cleo and Velva (Hockett) Bosley of Clifton, Colorado, brother-in-law Arthur Bosley of Clifton, CO who passed away serving our county in WWII, sister-in-law, Doris (Bosley) Erven of Clifton, Colorado. Sister, Helen (Henderson) Kauffman of Clifton, Colorado, and Nadine (Henderson) Collins of Midland Michigan. Her niece Janet (Cook) Alexander.
