Harlan Woods, age 57, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2, 2013.
He was born in Torrance, CA, and graduated from Torrance High in 1975. He moved to Buena Park, CA in 1979. In 1991, Harlan went to Ashville, NC to help a friend build his home and he liked the area so well, he decided to stay.
Harlan was a kind hearted person, willing to help anyone in need. He loved fishing and Nascar, and participated in both as often as he could.
He is survived by his parents, Harlan and Hannah Woods; sister, Karen Mitchell; three nieces, Cerise Woods, Shayla Woods, and Ashley Woods, and two nephews, Kyle Woods, and Gage Mitchell. Harlan has one great-niece, Ava Flores, and two great-nephews, Jesse Flores and Roman Oday, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins throughout the country.
Harlan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hayden and Edith Woods, and Joe and Hettie Zenco; cousin, Doug Reid, and brother-in-law, Terry Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held on January 11, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Redlands Community Church, 2327 Broadway in Grand Junction.
