Harley passed away surrounded by his family on October 21, 2013 at His home in Fruita, Colorado. He was born to Jack D. & Rowena M. (Hill) Peters in LaJunta, Colorado. He was a lifelong resident of Colorado, where he has lived in Fruita, Snomass, Craig, Oakcreek, Rangely (for over 20 years), and back to Fruita.
Harley loved to spending time with his family, watching football or hunting with the family was always a great time. Harley was a member of the Sherriff’s Posse in Craig, Colorado and a member of The Outfitters Association.
Harley is survived by his Father Jack D. Peters and his wife Bonnie (Amos) Peters of 47 years of marriage. They were married on May 20, 1966 in Delta, Colorado, which was right after Harley graduated from Fruita Monument High School that year. Harley is also survived by a Son Lonnie (Sheila) Peters of Fruita, and one daughter Kerry (Duane) Dille of Grand Junction, one Brother Roger (Sue) Peters of Canon City, and one sister Pamela (JJ) Johnson of Fruita. There are eleven Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren that are left behind to cherish his memory. Harley is preceded in death by his mother Rowena M. Peters (Hill) and a grand-daughter Brittany Peters.
There is a Memorial Service on October 28th, 2013 at Martin Mortuary at 2:00 pm. Memorial Contributions can be may to Hope West Hospice, 3090 North 12th St.,Suite B, GrandJunction,Colorado,81506, in Harley’s name.
