Harry “Scott” Pool of Clifton, CO, rode into the sunset on the horizon of a perfect endless day early December 22 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer. Scott was a master mechanic, specializing in VW’s, transmissions, 4X4’s, and diesels. He took pride in owning his own 4X4 shop, Absolute Off Road.
As an avid off road recreation enthusiast, Scott enjoyed a variety of ways to explore the vast trails of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. His passions were dirt biking, mountain biking, ATV’s, and Jeeping. His most recent passion was riding his Indian motorcycle.
Scott was born to Harry and Minnie Pool in Carmi, IL. He is survived by three sisters. He married the love of his life, Cathy, in 1973. They had four children: Mandy (Brandon) Jarman, Naomi (Michael) Haswell, Katie Tobin, and Eric (Anna) Pool; twelve grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
He deeply and unconditionally loved his family and was their fierce and sturdy foundation and dedicated role model. Day or night, Scott was a pillar of strength to all who knew him. His legacy of passion, integrity, loyalty, love, and friendship will live on through the hearts and lives of those who knew him.
A celebration of Scott’s life will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Mesa Theater, 538 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction from 3-5pm.
A special thank you goes out to the caring doctors, nurses, and CNA’s at St. Mary’s Hospital, whose devoted care is second to none. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott Pool’s medical/memorial account at www.gofundme.com/scott-pool-memorial/medical-ac.
