Jack graduated from Grand Junction High School where he was a four-sport athlete, then earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Colorado. His love of adventure and flying led him to serve in the Air Force in the late 1950s, where he achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant and flew B-47s.
In 1960, he co-founded Treece Loan, and later, Old Homestead Realty followed by Treece Land Investments, where he specialized in ranches and mountain properties. He was also an expert photographer, combining that skill and his love of nature to capture stunning animal photos. Mr. Treece also enjoyed “techie gadgets” embracing the computer age and all that came with it. He worked to maintain a healthy lifestyle, identifying health techniques and practices long before they became popular. He was an avid hunter in his earlier years but transformed into a wildlife protector, spending time on his small ranch growing grains and seeds for birds and a variety of mammals. He also enjoyed watching action movies.
Jack is survived by his son, David Treece (Jackie) and 4 grandchildren, Jasmin, Nikolas, Justin and Kirsten who knew him as “Granpa the Great”. He is also survived by his friend Laura Raymond of Connecticut and his dog Yip. He was preceded in death by his daughter Bonnie Treece, son Tom Treece, his parents Carl J. Treece and Vinita M. Treece, and his brothers Carl Jr. and Richard.
