Jackie Marie Steele

Jackie Steele passed away August 24, 2015 at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center, she was 75.

Jackie was born on August 27, 1939 in Gunnison, Colorado from the union of Vern T. and Opal Allen. She spent her childhood in Gunnison and graduated from Gunnison High School.

Jackie met Roger Steele in Cedaredge, CO and they married in November, 1958 at the Eckert Presbyterian Church, he preceded her in death on March 20, 2011. The family lived in Basalt and later Jackie and Roger moved to Grand Junction in 1992, to retire. Favorite memories were made with family on fishing and hunting trips in Hayden as well as buffalo hunting in South Dakota. Jackie was a very spiritual person; she enjoyed bowling, horseback riding on the Grand Mesa and traveling with Roger.

Jackie leaves behind three sons, Keith Leroy Steele of Palisade, CO; Scott Lynn (Penney) Steele of Glenwood Springs, CO and Kevin Lee (Lori) Steele of Palisade, CO; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Martin Mortuary with graveside services at 3:00 p.m., at the Eckert Cemetery, Eckert, CO.
