Jacob Michael Barley suddenly passed away on Saturday, May 25, at the tender age of 19. Jacob was born to Brenna Wright and Michael Barley on August 21, 1999, in Grand Junction, CO, and grew up in the Grand Valley. He attended high school in Rifle when his family moved for a time, was active in wrestling and football, and graduated in 2018. He loved the outdoors and could often be found camping, four-wheeling, or dirt bike riding with his friends and long-time girlfriend, Mikayla. He enjoyed adventuring all over Colorado, and also went on several treasured trips.
Jacob was well-liked and made friends with ease and kept them for life. He was a doting older brother and a tender-hearted son. He was a good buddy to his grandparents and a sweet and fun nephew. His many relationships within his family were each special and unique. Jacob was known for his big blue eyes, strong hands, and gentle nature. He was the friend who brought good music, made food at camp, and showed sincerity in all that he did. If you were his family or a friend, you considered yourself lucky.
Jacob leaves behind his mother, Brenna, and stepfather, Jeff Wright; his father, Michael Barley, and stepmother, Becky Golden; his brother, Tyler; sisters, Madison and Alaina Wright; sister, Emercyn Barley; and stepbrother, Jeremiah Ducharme. He is also survived by six grandparents, four aunts, four uncles, and countless cousins. Jacob will be truly missed.
