Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Place was a carpenter.

He is survived by his parents, Dave and Maria Place of Clifton; parent Jackie Jewel of Rifle; a brother, Rocco Bello; and a sister, Damien Place.

Jake Richard Place passed away on December 22, 2015. He was born on October 1, 1979, in Grand Junction, CO. He spent most of his childhood in western Colorado and graduated from Palisade High School. Jake worked in construction and the oil field, but he was an entrepreneur at heart and spent many hours doing art work.

He loved his family and friends, his dogs (Bailey and Spike), art, and music.

Jake is survived by his parents, Dave and Maria Place; his mother, Jackie Jewell; grandmothers, Hazel Place and Geri Jewell; sister, Damein Place Pontine (Alan Pontine); brother, Rocco Bello; nephews, Parker and Devon Pontine; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Jeannette Lucero, and his grandfather, Everett “Hoot” Place.

Memorial services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, CO.
