James Adkins passed away November 23, 2014 at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center, he was 66.
James was born on August 27, 1948 in Modesto, California from the union of Billy Joe and Hazel Adkins. He graduated from Rifle High School and the family later moved to follow construction work. Their travels took them to The Dalles, Oregon, Hawthorne, Nevada, Silt, Colorado and Stillwell, Oklahoma for 25-30 years. James spent the last four years living near his sister Donna in Parachute, Colorado.
James was a United States Army Veteran and later worked in construction. He enjoyed hunting in Colorado and fishing in Oklahoma.
He leaves behind two daughters; Juntim and Sandra Griffin both of Las Vegas, Nevada, a sister; Donna (Dean) House of Parachute, Colorado and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a cousin; Ray Petree.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
