

James Barrix passed away May 30, 2014, from a sudden illness, he was 62. James was born on October 29, 1951, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin from the union of James and Ione Barrix. He grew up in the Mauston and Reedsburg area and graduated from the Mauston High School and later attended the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. On November 21, 1980, he married Karen Spinn, she survives. He was a mining engineer and enjoyed Harleys, motorcycling, hunting, camping, fishing, traveling and working. James leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Karen Barrix of Whitewater, CO; daughter, Veronica Barrix-Niles and her husband, Jeff of Grand Junction, CO; three brothers, Tom Barrix of Baraboo, WI; Devon Barrix of Lake Tomahawk, WI, and Gary Barrix of Mauston, WI, and two grandchildren, Crystal and Destiny Barrix . He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Kurt Barrix. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014, at Martin Mortuary.
