Born on September 14, 1960 in Denver, Colorado to Tom and Darlene Mahoney, Jeannette was known for her boundless energy and enthusiastic approach to life. As a child, she was the one joyfully dancing, playing in the park, running through sprinklers, and having the time of her life with everything she did.
This zest for the adventures of life continued as she moved to San Francisco, California, pursued a career at The Gap, and obtained a pilot’s license just for fun. She moved to Denver where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Airport Management and achieved the degree Summa Cum Laude (4.0 GPA). She later met her husband Chris, whom she married on September of 1994. They moved to Montrose, Colorado where they enjoyed working and playing in the great outdoors. In her free time, Jeannette enjoyed gardening, cooking, and growing orchids. Jeannette worked at the Montrose Airport, the hospital, and was the contractor when she and her husband built and sold several houses.
After Jeannette’s cancer diagnosis in 2019 and subsequent surgery, she and her husband decided that life can be short. They purchased an RV and ‘hit the road’ to explore just about every state in the USA. Jeannette loved the freedom, the beauty, and meeting wonderful people along the way. Her favorite places were always the ones with beautiful beaches where she could walk in the sand. During this time Jeannette courageously dealt with every challenging aspect of her illness, her loving husband Chris always by her side to support and love her.
The family is heartbroken that Jeannette’s journey in this realm has ended, yet we and all who knew her were gifted with the experience of her beautiful and courageous soul. We know that she has begun a new life of joy and freedom from pain with God. Jeannette will be dearly missed, and she will always be in our hearts.
Jeannette is survived by her spouse, Chris Anderies, parents Tom and Darlene Mahoney (Grand Junction, CO), sisters, Barbara Mahoney (Helena, MT) and Paula Magor (Grand Junction, CO), brother Charles Mahoney (Carson City, NV), and many relatives and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:00AM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary located at 2515 Patterson Rd, Grand Junction, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations can be made to Dominican Sisters of Peace, 3600 Broadway, Great Bend, KS 67530, Helena Food Share – www.helenafoodshare.org ,or to your favorite charity in her name.
Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.
