John Arthur Fitzpatrick, 76, of Grand Junction, passed away on September 12th, 2021. John was a Grand Junction native, and was born to Calvin Fitzpatrick & Lily Stizell on December 20th, 1944. As a young boy, John lived and worked on a ranch, wrangling cattle and riding horses. John graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1963, then went on to further study Aerial Mapping in Denver. An experienced aerial photographer and mapper, John moved to Utah in 1998 to continue his career, mapping out Utah and Colorado. He moved back to Grand Junction in 2008 to enjoy retired life, marrying his wife Lori in 2012, while spending time with their two kids, Keith & Zoey.
John was an avid pool player, outdoorsman, and was skilled at playing the accordion. He enjoyed scenic motorcycle trips, participating in the toy run, and camping with his family. He will be remembered for his stories around the campfire. John was also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Junction.
John is survived by his wife Lori of 10 years. Also survived by John are his children; Eddie(Denise) Fitzpatrick, David Fitzpatrick, Renee Fitzpatrick, Keith Walz, & Zoey Walz. In addition, John leaves behind 5 Grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Wednesday, September 22nd at 1pm. Burial will follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
