John, raised during the Great Depression in their private nursing home by his grandmother and mother; attended Ottawa public schools. Was baptized at 11 into the Seventh-day Adventist
Church. Enrolled at 13 in Enterprise Academy SDA High School, graduating in 1945. Enrolled at 16 in Union College, Lincoln, NE, graduating 1949 with a BA in Religion. Went to Seventh-day
Adventist Theological Seminary, Washington, DC, 1950; receiving MA theology, 1951. In nearby Columbia Union College, Takoma Park, MD, he met and courted his life-time partner, Arloene
Rentfro; she received her RN. They married June 24, 1951. They moved to Kansas where John became a pastor/church school teacher, & Arlo a hospital RN. They spent 12 years in 4
Pastoralists in Kansas. In 1963 they moved to Colorado. While John pastored another 29 years, Arlo earned her BSN in 1979 & her MPH in 1982. They loved to travel: Traveled to 6 continents
& 80 countries. John retired in 1992, but became unpaid visiting pastor another 30 years. Arlo nursed and taught nursing for CMU until she was 71. They were married 70.5 years, when she
rested in Jesus, Dec. 22, 2021. They lost a son, David Michael, at birth. Arlo looks forward to holding him at the resurrection, then traveling to heaven with him.

Two great-daughters: Ruth Morris; Christiana LaCelle
Finally, we are expecting a grand reunion on resurrection day. Pastor Goley will be remembered in all his churches for visiting nearly every member in their home.
