

John R. Moglia, 84, of Grand Junction, CO, formerly of New York, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 03, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center. John was born to Joseph and Rosa Moglia April 13, 2014 in New York City.
John was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He married Carmen Tellez in Mexico in 1974. He was a “walking encyclopedia”, always amazing people with the things he knew. While working on Pan American airplanes, he was affectionately nicknamed Geppetto by his coworkers. Throughout his life he showed tremendous talent using his hands to draw, create sculptures and restore old cars. He spent his later years dancing and enjoying his friends at River City Singles and the Moose.
John is survived by his son, Arturo Ramirez in Mexico, daughters Lily Hawkins in Carmel, IN, and Rose (Warren MacEvoy) Moglia in Grand Junction, CO, and sisters Daisy Bachi in Virginia, Gina Villani in New York and Annette Emeric in New York. John is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, brother Louis Moglia, sisters Mary Handle and Rita Flowerman, and son Robert Ramirez.
A Funeral Mass was held Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grand Junction, CO. Memorial contributions can be made to the V.A. Medical Center at 2121 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
