November 8, 1993 - June 8, 2016
Jordan Jones was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. He passed from this life after a yearlong fierce battle with late recurrence, late stage testicular cancer.
Jordan is survived by his parents, Jeff and Kim Jones, and his sister, Breanna Jones. Jordan was a true warrior in every way. He made a full recovery after his first battle with late stage testicular cancer in 2007.
His love for football was apparent. He played for West Middle and Grand Junction High School. Other favorite sports were lacrosse, dirt biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, guitar, music, hip hop song writing, video gaming, and more. Jordan lived his life to the fullest in his 22 and one half years and had such a loving heart and soul. To know Jordan is to love him.
He was first diagnosed in 2007 at the early age of 13 and inspired his mom, Kim Jones, to start a nationally known nonprofit, Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation, in support of awareness, early detection, and support to those fighting testicular cancer, the leading cancer in men 15-35. Through the foundation, Jordan's story has inspired many throughout the nation as well as other countries. Jordan's story and the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation continues to make a difference in the fight against this disease and helping save lives.
Jordan will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the testicular cancer community.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Colorado Mesa University Ballroom from 4 -8:00 p.m. Please RSVP for attendance only to: [email protected].
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation at www.tcafinfo.org.
