

Joseph Robert Konzier, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on October 14, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Joe was the son of Austrian immigrants and a first-generation American.
Joe graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Pharmacy, in 1962, and went on to enjoy a distinguished career as a registered pharmacist for over 40 years. His professional journey began in Chicago before he and his family relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1976 after a memorable family vacation. Joe spent more than 30 years as the manager of the KMart Pharmacy in Grand Junction, where he was known for his dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to his community.
Joe loved the outdoors and was a devoted sports fan. He was an avid fisherman, hiker, skier, cyclist, and world traveler, who also enjoyed working in the yard and fixing things around the house. Joe was an active member of Calvary Bible Church and later, Redlands Community Church, where he made lasting connections with friends.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Grace, who was the love of his life. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughters, Mary Konzier and Susan Konzier Engeman; his son-in-law, Andy Engeman; and his adoring granddaughters, Sophie and Madeline Engeman of Denver. Joe’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on through his family and all who knew him.
