Judy McDonald

Judith (aka Judy) Anne McDonald was born September 4, 1956, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO to parents Don and Wanda (nee Kennicott) McDonald. She came into this world on her mother’s 32nd birthday. She was the second child and only daughter the couple had. She was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her older brother, David McDonald.

Judy grew up and spent her entire life in the Grand Valley of western Colorado. She graduated from Central High School in 1974 before going into the workforce. She held various secretarial positions throughout her working years.

Although she never married, Judy became a mother to her only child, a baby girl she named Larisa, whom she loved with all her heart. Larisa in turn made Judy a grandmother and delighted in hearing her grandchildren affectionately call her “Nana”.

Judy passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on November 2, 2024 from health complications and dementia. She was 68 years old. Thank you to the staff at Larchwood Inns and HopeWest for making Judy’s final months dignified.

Judy leaves behind her younger brother, Timothy and his wife Suzanne McDonald who reside in Florida, three nieces (David’s daughters Shelia, Shery, and Shelley) and a nephew (Tim’s son, Ian). Judy will be missed most by her loving daughter, Larisa Gould, along with Larisa’s husband, Bob, and their children/Judy’s grandsons Creager, Titus, and Easton Gould.

Per Judy’s final wishes, no services will take place. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation to your local food bank be made in Judy’s honor.
