March 2, 1942 – September 14, 2023
Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Judy Lee Etzler (Davis) (Wagler) (Kinion) passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on September 14, 2023, at the age of 81. Judy was preceded in death by her Father Clyde Etzler and Mother Beatrice Snyder (Etzler) (Wheeler), her husband J. Roderick “Rick” Wagler, her sister Ruth Etzler (Neely) and brothers Charles Etzler, Dwight Etzler and her daughter Sherry L. Davis (Keppel).
Judy was born March 2, 1942, in Buena Vista, Colorado. She attended High School in Norwood, Colorado. In 1959 she married her High School sweetheart Roger D. Davis. They were blessed with four children. They made their home in Durango, Colorado, later moving to Northglenn, Colorado in 1970.
Judy worked various jobs in her lifetime, including Safeway in Durango, Gerico in Denver, and McKessan Chemical in Grand Junction. Later in life she was a social service caregiver in the Grand Junction area. She loved gardening, cooking, and sewing, but her true love was always her family and friends. Judy was best known for infectious spirit and beautiful smile. She touched the heart of every person she met, and her friendships were lifelong.
In 1985 Judy moved to Grand Junction and married Rick Wagler, welcoming his four sons into her tight-knit, growing family. She cherished time with her young grandchildren, creating a living forest in their backyard for each child to carve their name in their own tree, and dedicating themed rooms within their home for the grandchildren to play. Granny, as she was so fondly referred to by grandchildren, always made time to play, comfort a crying child, teach them to cook, or simply read them a story. Holidays were always a special event at Granny’s. Grandkids would eagerly gather to participate in her annual Easter Egg hunts, Christmas Eve Chili Feast where they all participated in singing Christmas carols. She adored every child, and Granny hugs always put a smile on a child’s face.
On September 2, 2017, Judy married Charles “Frank” Kinion from Montrose, Colorado. Judy gained two additional stepsons with this marriage, as well as three additional grandchildren. Judy and Frank resided in their home in Grand Junction, enjoying the company of their grandkids.
Judy was a devoted Christian and attended weekly Bible Studies up until the time of her death. One of Judy’s final wishes was to express that she loved the Lord.
Judy is survived by her husband Charles “Frank” Kinion, former husband Roger D. Davis, brothers Leroy Etzler and Frank Etzler, her sons Ricky D. Davis (Kimberly) and Larry D. Davis (Kathy), her daughter Sandra L. Davis Bardin (Danny), stepsons Zane Wagler, Blake Wagler (Renee), Damon Wagler (Jessica), Dean Wagler (Ruth), Darrin Kinion (Jo), Dwayne Kinion (Kim), 29 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and countless family and friends. Judy’s family and friends will miss her dearly.
Celebration of Judy’s life will be held at Canyon View Vineyard Church, 736 24 ½ Road, Grand Junction, Colorado on September 29th at 2:00pm.
