Katherine Bernice Letey

Katherine (Grant) Letey June 22, 1922 – August 6, 2013 Katherine Letey passed away on August 6, 2013. She was born on June 22, 1922 in Hotchkiss, CO to William Ervin and Arwilda (Lawrence) Grant. She spent her childhood in Mesa, Crested Butte, and Basalt. She graduated from Basalt High School. She married Leo Letey on November 2, 1940. The couple lived in Delta, Cortez, Arvada, Roaring Fork Valley, and Alamosa. She was a homemaker and lived in in Grand Junction for many years. Katherine was a member of American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years, Eight and 40, Eastern Star, GJ Gem and Mineral Club, and Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She enjoyed gardening, was an enthusiastic genealogist and family historian, crafter and rock hound. Katherine is survived by sons, Jay (Patty) of Glendale, AZ; Gerald of Tucson, AZ, and Ronald (Laura) Letey of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Diana (John) Bruce of Grand Junction, CO: eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers, William and Donald Grand, and granddaughter, Kristina Davis. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Mortuary. Burial will follow at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
