Mr. Pigford owned and operated Grand Junction Nurseries Garden Center.
Survivors include two sons, Kent and Todd, both of Grand Junction; two daughters, Lynda Clark of Douglasville, Georgia, and Sherri Brown of Grand Junction; four brothers, Don of Farmington, New Mexico, Tony of Kenansville, North Carolina, Art of Willard, North Carolina, and Ray of Montrose; two sisters, Jan Chalmers of Hampton, Virginia, and Chris Day of McMurray, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Kenneth D Pigford Jr., 93, passed away November 11, 2014.
He was born on December 28, 1920, in Willard, NC, the second of nine children to Kenneth and Susan Pigford. Ken graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1942. He was a member of the school of Business International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi.
He joined the Army Air Force and served stateside during WWII. While stationed at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, he met his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean Weston. In 1948, Ken and Jean moved to Grand Junction and built the Grand Junction Nurseries, Garden Center on North Avenue. They worked side by side for over half of a century.
Ken is survived by daughters, Lynda and Glen Clark of Douglasville, Georgia, and Sherri and Mark Brown of Grand Junction; sons, Kent and Sharon Pigford of Grand Junction, and Todd and Shauna Pickford of Fruita; nine grandchildren, Camille and John Dent, Julia and Matthew Miller, Ryan and Heather Brown, BrieAnna and Ryan Springer, Natalia and Brian Carter, Derek Pigford, Katelynn Pigford, Robert and Chloe Pickford, nine great-grandchildren, Maggie and Caroline Dent, Zachary Miller, Lia, Evelyn, and Brynlee Brown, Kacey, Branson and Andrew Springer. Ken is also survived by six siblings, Don Pigford of Farmington, NM; Tony Pigford of Kenansville, NC; Art Pigford of Willard, NC; Ray Pigford of Montrose, CO; Jan Chalmers of Hampton, VA, and Chris Day of McMurray, PA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean, and his infant daughters, Susan and Conna.
A celebration of life service will be held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church on Monday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m.
