Kerry was, and Leah still is, among the most wonderful people I have ever known.  We had the good fortune to become neighbors about 25 or 26 years ago.  Kerry and our oldest daughter were in the same graduating class from Grand Junction High School.  When i asked our daughter if she knew Kerry, she said she knew who he was but didn't know him as he was a stud on the football team.  When I lost my husband, they were both so good to me.  I would hear a noise in my back yard, look out, and there was Kerry unloading a pile of firewood for me.  Then I'd look out, and here he would come with the brush to clean out my chimney.  Just always helping me.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend and will be so greatly missed.

Kerry Lee was a gentle, kind, and deeply compassionate teacher who dedicated himself to his students with unwavering patience and care. He didn’t just teach the curriculum—he taught by example, modeling integrity, kindness, and perseverance. His classroom was a place where students felt safe, valued, and encouraged to grow, not only academically but as human beings. Whether through a quiet word of encouragement, a well-timed joke, or his steadfast belief in their potential, Kerry had a way of reaching students in ways that went far beyond the lesson plan. It was a privilege to work with him during my years at Bookcliff Middle School.

I taught 6th grade with Kerry at Bookcliff Middle School. He was a tremendous teammate and teacher. I learned so much from him and my own teaching improved by watching him challenge students while making learning fun. Thanks Kerry, you were special!
