Kim was born on October 5, 1977, in Casper, WY. Throughout her life, she called Wyoming, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Colorado home.
Kim will be remembered for her wonderfully quirky sense of humor and her unmistakable laugh. She found joy in the unexpected and had a way of catching people off guard with a comment that left everyone laughing. When she laughed, others often couldn't help but laugh with her. Even in ordinary moments, she had a gift for finding something amusing to remind those around her not to take life quite so seriously.
She loved her family deeply, and nothing brought her greater happiness than being Jaren's mom. Their relationship was one of deep affection, friendship, and unconditional love. Like any mother and son, they shared moments of laughter, long conversations, time together, and occasional disagreements. Through it all, their bond remained strong. He was the greatest joy of her life, and her love for him was steadfast and unwavering.
Kim lived a life that was both beautiful and complicated. Like many, Kim's life included seasons of hardship and struggle. Through it all, she remained deeply loved by her family, who never stopped hoping, praying, and believing in healing and restoration.
She is survived by her son, Jaren, her father and stepmother, Brett and Jan Edwards, two brothers Ryan Edwards (Amanda) and Johnathan Edwards (Linda), two nieces (Reagan, and Denise), and two nephews (Tyler and Hunter), and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Donna Edwards and by grandparents Jack and Lila Edwards and Vi and Preston Cox, and beloved aunts and uncles.
For those who knew and loved Kim, there is comfort in knowing that the final chapter of every life belongs not to us, but to God. Kim professed her faith in Jesus Christ, and today we entrust her to His mercy and perfect justice, knowing He understands every wound, every struggle, and every part of her story far better than we ever could.
A family service celebrating Kim's life will be held at a later date.
The family is grateful for the kindness, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
